Purpose:

This site is to help you, someone who wants to donate money in response to the 2019/2020 Bushfires in Australia, understand how your donation will be used.

Looking at social media over the last two weeks, it has been clear that people really want to help. But many people are not clear:

Where their money will be used
Which groups it will go towards
What the money will be used for

This site is an attempt to help make it quick and easy for you to understand, and allow you to choose an organisation based on what is most important to you.

These appeals are receiving significant media attention, and so you are more likely to come across them and be considering donating. This site attempts to help you understand what your donation will go towards. This site does not rank or evaluate impact or charities.

There are many more appeals, fundraisers, and requests available that you can donate to if you choose. This is not intended to be a comprehensive list, just a tool to assist with decision making between the largest appeals.

Will you add or change the information you have up?

I will make changes to fix mistakes or update existing info, or to make the site easier to use.

I will not be adding any additional appeals/organisations/fundraisers - there are simply so many out there that the task would be endless. I am happy to change information if it is wrong. The filtering I have used is my best understanding of what the money is going towards based on the information which is publicly provided by each organisation/fundraiser.
